De Lacy Executive is seeking a commercially minded agriculture sales professional to take ownership of a portfolio of more than 200 farming customers across South Suffolk and Essex. You will act as the trusted adviser, growing revenue while understanding crops, soils and precision farming.
The role sits between agronomy and commercial agriculture, requiring technical knowledge and business development skills to identify opportunities and build lasting relationships with growers in your territory.
Some agricultural careers are built around products. Others are built around people.
This opportunity gives you the chance to inherit an established portfolio of more than 200 farming customers across Suffolk and Essex, becoming the trusted adviser, they rely on while growing and developing a territory of your own.
If you've got a strong understanding of arable farming, enjoy working with growers and want the freedom to build something that is genuinely yours, this is an opportunity to take ownership of a well-established territory and make a lasting impact.
For the last 12 months, this territory has been shared across neighbouring colleagues. The customers are still there, the work is still being done, and the opportunity remains significant. What is missing is someone who can take ownership of the region and make it their own.
You'll step into a portfolio of more than 200 existing customer accounts across South Suffolk and Essex, inheriting relationships that are already active and established. Rather than spending your first year knocking on doors trying to generate business from scratch, your focus will be on getting to know your growers, understanding their farms and becoming the person they rely on.
The role sits between agronomy and commercial agriculture. You'll need the technical understanding to discuss crop production, soils and precision farming, but equally you'll need the commercial drive to identify opportunities, develop accounts and grow revenue across the region.
You'll become the commercial lead for Precision Services across your region, working with farmers to implement technology-led solutions that improve efficiency, profitability and crop performance.
There is no single mould for this position.
You may already be working in agricultural sales. You might come from a precision farming, crop production, agronomy, nutrition or farm business background. Equally, candidates with strong arable knowledge and a genuine desire to move into a more commercial role could also thrive here.
More important than job title is the ability to build trust with farmers, develop relationships and spot opportunities to grow a territory.
FACTS would be advantageous but is not essential, with support available for professional development.
