Job summary

Unite Group is seeking an Area Sales Executive to boost sales capability and consistency across student accommodation teams in the UK. You will work with city teams to improve follow-up, viewings, objection handling and conversion across multiple properties, driving a consistent, confident student experience.

Your success will be measured by the overall performance improvements across teams, not just the bookings you personally deliver.

• Proven experience in sales coaching or performance support.
• Track record of helping teams improve, not just personal results.
• Strong commercial judgement and ability to convert data into actions.
• Confident giving constructive feedback and tailoring approach.

Responsibilities

• Identify where sales performance can improve and turn insights into action across multiple properties.
• Coach colleagues through live enquiries, follow-ups, viewings, objections and closing conversations.
• Build confidence and capability through side-by-side support, feedback, role play and sharing best practices.
• Ensure disciplined CRM usage, clear pipelines and timely follow-up across properties.
• Support local activity that creates leads (open days, events, digital channels).
• Improve rebooking and retention by planning resident engagement.

Area Sales Executive

Team sales capability, consistency and performance

Help every team perform at its best.We are looking for a commercially minded Sales Performance Executive who will improve sales capability and consistency across our student accommodation teams. Rather than focusing only on an individual pipeline, you will work alongside colleagues to strengthen follow-up, viewings, objection handling, rebooking and conversion across multiple properties.

Our sales cycle is human. Behind every enquiry is a student with ambitions, anxieties and choices to make. You will help teams combine pace and commercial focus with care and trust, so every student receives a consistent and confident experience.

Your success will be measured by the improvement you enable across the team, not just the bookings you personally deliver.

Your impact

• Working alongside property and city teams to identify where sales performance can improve and turning insight into practical action.
• Coaching colleagues through live enquiries, follow-up, viewings,objection handling and closing conversations.
• Building confidence and capability through side-by-side support, feedback, role play and sharing good practice.
• Helping teams maintain disciplined CRM usage, clear pipelines and timely follow-up across multiple properties.
• Supporting local activity that creates leads, including open days, student fairs, events and digital channels.
• Improving rebooking and retention activity by helping teams plan and deliver effective resident engagement.
• Using performance data, customer insight and competitor activity to identify gaps, priorities and opportunities.
• Creating consistency across teams while adapting support to different property, market and customer needs.
• Stepping into direct sales activity where needed, particularly during peak periods or where additional support will unlock results.
• Recognising progress, reinforcing strong behaviours and helping teams sustain improvements over time.

Your background

• Proven experience in sales, sales coaching, performance support or team development in a customer-focused environment.
• A track record of helping others improve, not just delivering strong personal results.
• Strong commercial judgement with the ability to turn data and observations into clear, practical actions.
• Confidence giving constructive feedback and adapting your approach to different levels of experience.
• Strong communication, negotiation and objection-handling skills that you can demonstrate and coach.
• A collaborative, values-led approach that builds trust and accountability without taking over.
• A warm, student-focused style that balances commercial outcomes with a positive customer experience.
• The organisation and resilience to support multiple properties through seasonal peaks.
