Job summary

Ocado Logistics is recruiting a Warehouse Manager for the Bicester Customer Fulfilment Centre. You will lead an operational team in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment, focusing on safety, performance, and staff development.

The role requires strong experience in warehouse management, HSE practices, and data-driven decision making. You will oversee shift operations, drive KPI delivery, and ensure excellent employee experience while maintaining high standards of food safety and safety compliance

Qualifications

• Previous management experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
• Strong Health & Safety knowledge and practices.
• Ability to interpret data and communicate clearly.
• Experience conducting disciplinary and grievance investigations.
• Experience in a 24/7 productivity-focused operation.
• IOSH accreditation is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate operational teams to meet health, safety and KPI targets.
• Apply Health & Safety knowledge to promote a positive safety culture and investigate incidents.
• Manage people, train and coach staff, and address key people KPIs like turnover and absence.
• Maintain housekeeping, ensure food safety mechanisms, and drive continuous improvement.
• Communicate clearly, provide pre-shift briefings, and report area KPI metrics.
• Perform tiered management/personal shopper tasks when needed.
• Stand/walk for extended periods and operate in 30°C to -30°C environments.
• Support other sites as required and work weekends in a 24/7 operation.

Warehouse Manager - Ocado Logistics Customer Fulfilment Centre - Bicester

About the role

We wouldn't be able to positively impact the way the world shops without our passionate team members. Both behind the scenes within the warehouses and across the front end of the customer experience, we now have an opportunity for an Area Manager to join the team.

As an Area Manager at the Bicester Customer Fulfilment Centre, you will be crucial in leading, motivating, and supporting your operational team to maintain exceptional health and safety standards, drive people engagement, and ensure the delivery of key performance indicators (KPIs) in a dynamic, 24/7 environment.

This position involves a 4-on, 4-off pattern of 12-hour shifts, with both day and night roles available.

Job Responsibilities

• Using your management skills to lead and motivate teams in a time-sensitive operational environment, focusing on safety, welfare, and conduct.
• Applying your Health & Safety knowledge to ensure exceptional standards, promoting a positive safety culture, and completing detailed adverse event investigations.
• Utilising your people management experience to maintain an exceptional employee experience, drive training/coaching, and address key people KPIs like labour turnover and absence %.
• Using your operational focus to contribute to performance improvement, maintain excellent housekeeping, and ensure adherence to food safety mechanisms.
• Leveraging your communication and numeracy skills to manage daily operations, deliver pre-shift briefings, and report on specific area KPI metrics
• Undertake tiered management/personal shopper tasks if needed.
• Stand/walk for extended periods.
• Lift objects weighing up to 30kg (periodically from shoulder height).
• Wear protective equipment.
• Train to use Mechanical Handling Equipment.
• Work in environments ranging from 30°C to -30°C.
• Support other sites from time to time.
• Work shifts, including weekends, in an operational 24/7 environment

About You

• Previous management experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
• Experience and knowledge of best practice Health & Safety ways of working.
• Strong verbal and written communication and numeracy skills, used to working with and interpreting large volumes of data.
• Strong performance management knowledge and practical experience of conducting disciplinary & grievance investigations.
• Working knowledge of computerised warehouse management systems and core operating reporting tools.
• Food Safety compliance knowledge.
• Experience of working in a 24/7 productivity-conscious operation.
• Mechanical Handling Equipment - Current qualifications / previous experience.
• Previous experience in a continuous improvement environment & demonstrable problem-solving skills.
• IOSH accreditation.
