Position: Area Maintenance Technician/ Handyperson (Plumbing Bias)

Salary: £28,540.46 per annum

Location: Covering sites around Manchester

Hours: 40 hours per week (Potential for Overtime)

Benefits: Company Car/Van with Fuel Card, strong company pension, 33 days holiday (including bank holidays)

We are advertising this Handyperson role on behalf of our client, a facilities management supplier, to work on commercial supermarkets.

Job Purpose:

This is a key position, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across multiple site locations. The role involves non-technical repairs and minor PPMs. It is primarily a plumbing-based role, also involving basic electrical and mechanical plant works at various sites.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Prioritising and completing minor maintenance and repair work within agreed timescales.
2. Completing all necessary PPMs and reactive maintenance schedules accurately and on time.
3. Responding promptly to service call requests from the Helpdesk, assessing the job requirements, and carrying out repairs as necessary.
4. Ensuring all tools and equipment are available and in good condition at all times.
5. Attending other sites within the division as required, despite being aligned to a specific area for PPMs.
6. Working with company and client colleagues to maintain quality standards.
7. Representing the company professionally and developing good relationships with colleagues and clients.
8. Supporting other technicians and teams with maintenance work.
9. Carrying out tasks according to KPIs and updating the Mercury system with live job updates.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Experience in plumbing; qualification/trade qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
• Full UK driving license is essential.
• Previous experience in building maintenance, especially plumbing.
• Ability to maintain and repair various equipment.
• High-quality repairs and maintenance, speed, and efficiency.
• Good PC skills (Apple and Android).
• Responsive to service requests within agreed times.
• Ability to meet PPM schedules.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
