Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking a proactive Area Library Manager to lead a team across Cambridge City libraries and support the District Library Manager in delivering the county-wide strategy. The role covers Cambridge Central Library and multiple branches, with line management of library staff and volunteers.

• Experience leading a library team or similar supervisory role.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Able to travel across Cambridge and work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
• Commitment to delivering a high-quality, cost-effective library service.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of Cambridge City libraries.
• Support the District Library Manager to develop the district's library service.
• Line manage Community and District Library Assistants; supervise volunteers and buildings.
• Coordinate external partners, contractors and the UKVCAS service point at Cambridge Central Library.
• Lead staffing and building refurbishments as required.
