Job summary

Gloucestershire County Council is seeking an Area Highways Technician to join the Highway Depot team in Gloucestershire. You will assist Local Highway Managers by coordinating maintenance activities and delivering statutory highway duties across the designated area. The role offers a permanent contract, 37 hours per week, with a salary of £31,015 to £33,673 per year.

Shortlisting and interviews are planned for late 2026. Candidates must have the right to work and demonstrate fluent English.

Qualifications

• Experience in highways, emergency management, and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Area Team in ordering maintenance activities through the Term Maintenance Contractor.
• Support delivery and management of highways service for residents.
• Deal with community requests on highway related matters.
