This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance works across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling, and support services. This innovative approach helps different contractors work as a single entity to deliver complex installations.

The role

As an Area Health and Safety Lead, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Being part of the MEH Alliance on Hinkley Point C is a chance to be involved in a major project with national significance.

Day-to-day, you’ll:

• Act as the first point of contact for the H&S Advisors, escalating issues that cannot be resolved or require further support to the H&S / Discipline Leads.
• Oversee the HSE advisors' KPIs and support the HSE Area Lead in investigations.
• Record findings of audit reports and inspections in line with HSSE management system requirements.
• Build relationships with other Tier 1 contractors and the Principal Contractor.
• Monitor the working practices of MEH employees and contractors regarding health, safety, environment, and welfare.

This role is full time and based onsite at Hinkley Point C near Bridgwater.

Essential Experience

• Significant, relevant construction experience
• Excellent communication skills to explain HSE procedures and expectations
• Working knowledge of Health and Safety regulations

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance. Further details are available at GOV.UK.
