Job summary

Urban Pubs & Bars in London seeks an Area Support Chef to lead kitchen teams across multiple sites, ensuring fresh-food standards and consistent GP and stock control. You will report to the Executive Chef and Operations Manager, coordinating shifts and maintaining high standards throughout service.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to train and inspire teams while upholding health and safety practices in a fast-paced pub kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with fresh ingredients and seasonal menus.
• Professional kitchen experience with clear health and safety understanding.
• Proven track record of supporting a kitchen and controlling stock and GP.

Responsibilities

• Cover kitchen shifts within a remit reporting to the Executive Chef & Operations Manager.
• Ensure that food standards meet Urban Pubs & Bars' standards at all times of the day.
• Be organised, punctual and take responsibility for food quality and cost control.

Area Support Chefs are leaders with excellent communication and influencing skills. Creative, forward-thinking individuals who thrive under pressure and have a real passion for food, standards, and a talent for building and supporting strong teams.

You’ll play a key support covering kitchen shifts within a remit reporting to your Executive Chef & Operations Manager. You need to be organised and punctual, accept responsibility for food standards in the kitchens and ensure that the food served at all times of the day consistently meets the Urban Pubs & Bars standards.

You Are:

• An enthusiastic, dynamic and experienced chef who is looking for a new challenge.
• Able to demonstrate your experience of working with fresh ingredients and seasonal menus.
• Able to demonstrate experience of working in a professional kitchen showing a clear understanding of Health and Safety.
• Able to show a proven track record of supporting a kitchen and controlling stock and GP.
• Able to show technical skill and attention to detail
• Able to spot and resolve problems efficiently.
• Confident in your communication skills and ability to lead and motivate their teams.
