West Lothian Council seeks a lead officer for business support in schools, focusing on financial and resource management. The ideal candidate will have senior-level experience in financial management or HR in education, with a strong educational background. This role requires commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.

The post-holder will be the lead officer for business support functions within secondary schools and allocated primary/ASN schools. They will be responsible for establishing, maintaining, and developing management information systems to support financial, staffing, and resource management.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate previous experience operating at a senior level, with involvement in either financial management or human resources within an education setting. Experience in budget management/monitoring and business support in a school environment is essential.
The candidate should be educated to SCQF Level 7 in a business-related subject. A degree or professional qualification in finance or human resources is highly desirable, along with experience in leading a team within an education setting.
This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check before a formal offer of employment is made by West Lothian Council.
