West Lothian Council seeks a lead officer for business support functions in education. The role involves managing information systems for financial and resource management, requiring senior-level experience in financial management or HR within an educational setting.

The post-holder will be the lead officer for business support functions within the secondary school and allocated primary/ASN schools, responsible for establishing, maintaining, and developing management information systems to support financial, staffing, and resource management.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate previous experience operating at a senior level, with involvement in financial management or human resources within an education setting. Experience in budget management, monitoring, and business support in a school environment is essential.
The candidate must be educated to SCQF Level 7 in a business-related subject. A degree or professional qualification in finance or human resources is highly desirable, along with experience of leading or working within a team in an education environment.
This position is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check before a formal offer of employment is made by West Lothian Council.
