Job summary

Spey Building and Joinery in Kingussie seeks an Architectural Technologist/Technician to join our design-focused team. You will prepare planning applications, building warrants, and provide technical support to construction colleagues on bespoke residential projects.

Applicants should hold a degree in Architecture or Architectural Technology, have 3+ years of practice experience, and be proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp and Revit.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Architecture or Architectural Technology.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in practice.
• Strong technical understanding of building design and construction.
• Experience of residential design.
• Confident user of Autocad, Sketchup, Revit, and other graphics programmes.
• Good coordination and communication skills.
• Proactive, organised, and detail-focused approach.
• Good knowledge of planning application process.
• Good knowledge of Building Regulations and technical standards.

Spey Building and Joinery is an established building contractor based in Kingussie. We are working on exciting projects across Scotland.We work on bespoke residential projects, and in response to customer requirements for Design and Build services, the company has been building up its architectural capacity. An opportunity has arisen for a capable and enthusiastic Architectural Technologist/Technician to complement our team.

You would be preparing planning applications, building warrant submissions, and providing technical support to our construction colleagues.

Required Skills and Experience

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Architecture or Architectural Technology.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in practice.
• Strong technical understanding of building design and construction.
• Experience of residential design.
