Job summary

Our Client in central Scotland is seeking an experienced Architectural Technician to join the Technical Department. You will collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to progress early designs through Planning and Building Warrant stages.

Responsibilities include managing design teams, handling Building Warrant submissions, driving value engineering, and coordinating house type drawings while supporting the standard range development.

Qualifications

• Experience in new-build housing and flatted developments across Private/Residential and Social Housing sectors.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Revit; strong IT literacy across MS Office.
• Knowledge of Scottish Building Regulations and NHBC standards; HFvN is expected.

Responsibilities

• Project Delivery: Manage project teams, chair design team meetings with external consultants, and deliver projects in line with the program.
• Approvals & Compliance: Control in-house Building Warrant submissions and liaise with Planning, Building Warrant, RCC authorities to meet the project plan.
• Cost & Value Engineering: Drive out abortive design costs through early consultant and sub-contractor appointments and implement value engineering.
• Site & Technical Support: Respond to site queries, resolve construction issues, attend monthly site Project Review meetings and lead Pre-start Meetings.
• Drawing & Design Management: Coordinate consultants for house type drawings, check supplier schedules, and prepare technical details.
• Assist with development of Standard House Type Range and manage technical department administration.
