Job summary

g2 Recruitment is seeking an experienced Architectural Technician to join a leading design and construction team on a 12-month contract based in Birmingham. This role focuses on delivering technical drawings through RIBA Stage 3-4 and developing BIM models.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years’ experience, strong AutoCAD and Revit skills, and a solid understanding of UK Building Regulations. You will liaise with architects, consultants and contractors to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as an Architectural Technician or Architectural Technologist.
• Experience delivering projects through RIBA Stage 3-4.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations and construction detailing.
• Experience producing detailed technical and construction drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce and coordinate detailed technical drawings and construction packages.
• Deliver projects through RIBA Stage 3-4.
• Develop and maintain accurate BIM models and drawing sets.
• Liaise with architects, consultants, contractors and project stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with current Building Regulations and industry standards.
• Support the coordination and resolution of technical design issues.
• Work collaboratively to meet project deadlines and quality requirements.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years as an Architectural Technician or Architectural Technologist.
• Demonstrable experience delivering projects through RIBA Stage 3-4.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong working knowledge of Revit.
• Experience producing detailed technical and construction drawings.
• Excellent understanding of UK Building Regulations and construction detailing.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

• Experience working on large-scale commercial, residential, healthcare or education projects.
• Knowledge of BIM coordination processes and standards.
• Experience collaborating with contractors during the construction phase.
• CIAT membership or relevant industry accreditation.
• Previous experience working within a hybrid project delivery environment.
