Job summary

Service Care Solutions Ltd is recruiting an Architectural Officer for a Local Authority in the North East on a temporary contract (37 hours/week). The role requires hands‑on design delivery, strong AutoCAD skills and experience across new-build, refurbishment and capital projects.

You will undertake surveys, produce drawings, prepare schemes and contract docs, liaise with the design team and stakeholders, and ensure CDM and health & safety requirements are met.

Qualifications

• Around 2 years' experience in an architectural/building design environment.
• Experience of new-build design.
• Experience of building refurbishment and renovation.
• Demonstrable competency in AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations and health & safety requirements.
• Strong IT skills and the ability to produce accurate technical information.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking building surveys and site inspections.
• Producing architectural designs, drawings and technical information.
• Preparing schemes, contracts and associated project documentation.
• Using AutoCAD to produce accurate technical and architectural drawings.
• Supporting project management and site supervision activities.
• Liaising with consultants and other members of the design team.
• Providing technical advice and recommendations to Council officers and stakeholders.
• Monitoring and addressing design and construction issues, keeping senior colleagues informed of progress and risks.
