Job summary

Conrad Consulting Ltd is seeking an Architect to join its growing residential design team in Colchester. You will own planning layouts and masterplans, taking schemes from feasibility through to submission-ready packages for a UK client base of private developers and housebuilders.

You'll collaborate closely with planning and technical specialists, applying a robust understanding of UK planning policy and policy compliance while balancing creative ambition with commercial realities on projects

Qualifications

• ARB/RIBA registered architect with residential/masterplan design experience.
• Proven track record delivering work for housebuilder clients.
• Strong understanding of UK planning policy and processes.

A growing, commercially-minded design consultancy is on the hunt for an Architect to strengthen its Residential team in Colchester.

Join a business that's scaling quickly, with planning and technical specialists working side-by-side on housing projects that range from small, characterful sites to major strategic developments spanning the country.

What You'll Be Doing

As an Architect, you'll take ownership of planning layouts and masterplan proposals for a client base that spans private developers through to well-renowned housebuilders. Your work will largely sit at RIBA stages 0-3, shaping schemes from initial concept through to a robust, submission-ready package. Expect close day-to-day involvement with colleagues across planning and technical disciplines as projects move from feasibility to consent.

What We're Looking For

• ARB/RIBA Qualfied Architect
• Solid track record designing residential & masterplan schemes
• Hands-on experience delivering work for housebuilder clients
• A confident grasp of planning policy across the UK
• A knack for balancing creative ambition with commercial reality and policy compliance
• Comfortable collaborating across teams and communicating design intent clearly
• Proficiency with AutoCAD & SketchUp
