Job summary

Planning Recruitment is partnering with a London architectural practice to appoint an experienced Architect or Senior Architectural Technologist. You will lead projects from inception to completion, oversee technical delivery and coordinate across design teams.

The role is permanent in a collaborative studio, offering a competitive salary and benefits with opportunities for mentoring and business development.

Qualifications

• 3+ years PQE for Architect or equivalent Senior Technologist.
• Proven experience leading architectural projects end-to-end.
• Strong technical knowledge and understanding of construction.
• Excellent design skills translating concepts into technical details.
• Proficient in Revit and NBS Chorus; strong software capability.
• Experience with traditional and design & build procurement.
• Experience across RIBA Plan of Work; ideally contract administration.
• Strong client-facing, communication and leadership abilities.
• Collaborative approach; able to motivate and delegate.
• Good knowledge of contracts, regs and industry standards.

Architect / Senior Architectural Technologist

My client is a well-established and forward-thinking architectural practice based in the heart of London. They are looking to appoint an experienced Architect and Senior Architectural Technologist to join their growing team, working on a variety of exciting projects from inception through to completion.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong professional who enjoys taking ownership of projects, leading teams and delivering high-quality architectural solutions within a collaborative environment.

The Role

The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing projects throughout the full construction lifecycle, coordinating project teams, managing technical delivery and ensuring high standards of design and construction information.

You will be responsible for:

• Leading projects and managing delivery across multiple RIBA stages.
• Producing and reviewing detailed technical and construction information.
• Coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors and internal teams.
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members.
• Managing project programmes, resources and deadlines.
• Contributing to business development through strong client relationships and commercial awareness.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• 3+ years’ post-qualification experience for Architect applicants, or equivalent professional experience for Senior Architectural Technologists.
• Proven experience leading architectural projects from inception through to delivery.
• Strong technical knowledge and a thorough understanding of construction processes.
• Excellent design skills with the ability to translate concepts into detailed technical solutions.
• Proficiency in Revit and NBS Chorus, with strong overall software capability.
• Experience delivering projects through both traditional and design & build procurement routes.
• Experience working across the RIBA Plan of Work stages, ideally including contract administration.
• Strong client-facing skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
• Excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills.
• A collaborative approach with experience motivating, delegating and influencing within project teams.
• Good knowledge of contracts, regulations and industry standards.
