Job summary

Miller Bourne Architects in Brighton and Hove is seeking a full-time architect to join our friendly team in the studio.

The successful candidate will work on education, residential, community and sporting projects, with hybrid working after an initial office period; you should be ARB‑registered and have strong Revit/AutoCAD skills, plus good design and management abilities. DBS check will be undertaken; driving license is desirable.

Qualifications

• RIBA Part 3 fully qualified (ARB registered).
• Minimum 3 years’ UK experience working as an Architect.
• Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Sketchup and Navisworks (Clash Detection) – desirable but not essential.
• Knowledgeable about construction legislation and MMC concepts.
• Awareness of Robust Details, NHBC, LABC, BB93, HTMs, etc.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills and ability to multi-task.
• Ability to manage projects and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of NBS CAWS and Uniclass and specification writing.
• Familiarity with sustainable design and modern building technologies.
• Experience liaising with planning authorities and regulatory bodies.
• Driving license desirable but not essential.

Job description

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic, full-time architect to join our friendly team in our Brighton and Hove studio.

Miller Bourne Architects is a practice of 16 people, based in open plan studios overlooking the sea on the coast in Hove. We work on projects ranging from £1M to £25M, predominantly in the education, residential, community and sporting sectors, and so experience in these sectors would be advantageous. New staff are expected to work in the office for an initial period, but following that, we offer hybrid working.

Brighton and Hove is a fantastic place to live and work, being a vibrant and diverse city located close to the South Downs and is easily accessible from London.

Key Responsibilities
