Job description

Job Summary

A well-established, design-led architectural practice in Newcastle is looking to add an experienced Architect to its growing team. The practice has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality residential architecture, with a portfolio spanning bespoke new-build homes, substantial renovations, listed buildings, conservation projects and boutique developments.

This is a great opportunity for an Architect who enjoys being involved in the design process and wants to work on projects where quality, detail and individuality are genuinely important.

The Role

You’ll work closely with the Directors and wider team across a varied portfolio of residential projects, with involvement from early concept and planning through to technical design and delivery.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Developing architectural designs from concept through to completion
  • Producing planning and technical information
  • Working across bespoke residential projects, renovations and new-build homes
  • Liaising with clients, consultants and contractors
  • Contributing to design development and project coordination
  • Working closely with the Directors and wider design team

About You

  • We’re looking for an Architect who is confident across both design and technical delivery, with a genuine interest in residential architecture.Ideally, you’ll have:ARB registration / RIBA qualification
  • Around 3+ years’ post-Part 3 experience
  • Experience working on residential projects
  • Strong design and technical ability
  • Good knowledge of UK planning and building regulations
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good Revit and/or AutoCAD experience
  • A portfolio demonstrating high-quality design work

You don’t need to have experience in every area above. The key is that you’re a good Architect, care about the quality of your work and want to be part of a smaller, collaborative practice.

What’s on Offer?

  • You’ll be joining a practice where you can have genuine input into projects, work closely with experienced Architects and Directors, and see your designs develop from initial ideas through to completion.
  • The portfolio is varied and design-led, offering exposure to some interesting and often highly bespoke residential projects across the North East and beyond.
  • There’s also plenty of scope to continue developing your career within a supportive team, without the layers and corporate structure you can sometimes find within larger practices.
