Job summary

Locri Recruitment is assisting a Cambridge-based architectural practice in recruiting an experienced Architect to join their growing team. You will lead design development through RIBA Stages 3-7, coordinate technical packages and mentor junior staff, with a focus on heritage and conservation projects.

The role offers £45,000 salary, full-time permanent contract, hybrid working (up to two days from home), and a supportive environment with study sponsorship and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years post-qualification experience in a UK architectural practice.
  • ARB/RIBA qualification or equivalent. CIAT-qualified candidates will also be considered.
  • Strong creative design and technical detailing skills.
  • Proven experience working across RIBA Stages 3-7.
  • Good knowledge of UK Building Regulations and Planning requirements.
  • Strong experience using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Experience managing projects or significant project packages.
  • Experience coordinating consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members.
  • Heritage or conservation experience would be advantageous but is not essential.

  • Sharing knowledge and contributing to the wider development of the studio.

About the Practice

Locri are working with an established and highly regarded architectural practice in Cambridge, with a strong reputation for architecture, heritage and conservation.

The practice works across a varied portfolio, including cultural, public, education, residential and commercial projects, with a particular focus on working sensitively with significant and historic buildings.

They are now looking to appoint an experienced Architect to join their growing Cambridge team. They would also consider an experienced Architectural Technologist or Technician with a strong technical background.

The Role

The successful candidate will play an important role within project teams, contributing to both the creative and technical delivery of projects across a range of sectors.
