Job Description:

As we move into AMP 8 and continue with our growth plans across the UK & Ireland, we're interested in hearing expressions of interest from Heritage Consultants seeking new career opportunities in the coming weeks and months.

Stantec UK is looking for an Archaeology and Heritage Consultant to join our team in Reading or Bristol offices (other southern England offices may also be considered). The consultant will deliver technical advice and reports, focusing on water, highways, and infrastructure clients.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a global firm specializing in sustainable engineering, architecture, and environmental consultancy expanding in the UK. You will work within professional, collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams, aiming to deliver world-class solutions. You will provide high-quality historic environment consultancy advice and produce technical documents for schemes of various scales.

Your responsibilities include providing advice, risk analysis, research, and preparing documents like Screenings, Technical Advice Notes, Desk-Based Assessments, and Environmental Impact Assessments. This involves reviewing HER data, digital datasets, aerial photographs, LiDAR, conducting site visits, and report writing.

Under senior guidance, you will also consult with stakeholders to discuss evaluation and mitigation strategies and manage archaeological fieldwork with subcontractors.

About You

You are highly motivated, passionate about Britain's archaeology and heritage, and well-versed in relevant legislation and planning policy. You have several years of consultancy experience, excellent report-writing skills, and ideally GIS experience. Archaeological fieldwork experience is essential, and you should be a CIfA member at the Associate level or above. A full UK driving license is required.

Why Join Us?

Our People Culture: A close-knit, friendly, and collaborative environment.

Growth: Be part of our UK expansion journey.

Awards: Recognized as the International Consulting Firm of the Year and Best Place to Work at the 2024 NCE awards, among others.

Benefits: Competitive salary, pension, holidays, private medical insurance, gym discounts, and more.

Flexible working arrangements and engaging projects in water, infrastructure, and residential sectors.

Industry-leading training, development, and professional subscriptions.
