Stantec UK is looking for an Archaeology and Heritage Consultant to join our teams in Reading or Bristol (other southern England offices may be considered). The role involves delivering technical advice and reports for water, highways, and infrastructure projects.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a global firm specializing in sustainable engineering, architecture, and environmental consultancy. You will work within professional, collaborative, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality historic environment consultancy services, including technical documents for a range of schemes.
Your responsibilities will include providing advice, risk analysis, research, and preparing technical documents such as Screenings, Technical Advice Notes, Desk-Based Assessments, and Environmental Impact Assessments. This involves reviewing HER data, digital datasets, aerial photographs, LiDAR, conducting site visits, and preparing reports.
You will also consult with stakeholders to discuss evaluation and mitigation strategies and oversee archaeological fieldwork conducted by subcontractors.
About You
You are a highly motivated individual passionate about Britain's archaeology and heritage, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and planning policies. You have several years of consultancy experience, excellent report-writing skills, and ideally GIS experience. Archaeological fieldwork experience and a CIfA membership at the Associate level or higher are required. A full UK driving license is essential.
