Job Title: ARC Outreach Worker

Starting Salary: £30,559 progressing to £33,366 per annum (pro rata for part time) – pay award pending

Hours: 37.0

Location: Welwyn Garden City

About The Team

Our Outreach team is part of ARC Services, providing therapeutic support to families across Hertfordshire.

Do you have good communication skills with adults and young people? Do you want to support families to prevent a child coming into care? Do you want to learn more about therapeutic approaches? Then come and join our Outreach Team and help make a difference.

About The Role

We support young people who have experienced childhood trauma, and we work with them and their families to help stop young people entering the care system.

This role requires you to:


  • Undertake direct work with children and families with the most complex needs, using a range of interventions, organised through the ARC framework in collaboration with senior colleagues.
  • Undertake assessments to help inform therapeutic interventions for families.


You will provide intensive care packages to help young people who have complicated needs, helping them to build secure attachments and become self-reliant, working with them at home, at school and in the community.

You will be required to manage your working hours within guidelines to meet the needs of the families you are supporting.

You will need to be a driver with use of a vehicle for work and be able to work some evenings and weekends (min 10%) with the families you support and within ARC services Short Breaks service.

In return you will be supported to develop your professional knowledge and skills through supervision, training and other development opportunities in areas relevant to the work of the Attachment, Regulation, and Competency Framework (ARC), specifically in working with complex trauma.

About You

Essential:


  • A full UK Driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance. You will be required to use a car on a regular basis.
  • Proven ability to quickly establish and maintain positive relationships with a diverse group of people such as: stakeholders, partners, young people, parents and colleagues.
  • Ability to respond flexibly to family’s needs and to the priorities of the service.


Desirable:


  • Experience of working with young people.
  • A NVQ Level 4 in Residential Care Qualification is desirable however if you don’t have this we will fund and support you getting this. You will attend your college days during your working time to assist your studies.
