Job summary

idverde is seeking a Groundsman in Downpatrick, Northern Ireland, to join our arboricultural operations team. You will support tree removals, crown thinning, lifting, deadwooding and ongoing maintenance across sites, with a standard 40-hour week and overtime opportunities.

A full UK manual driving licence is essential. This permanent, full-time role offers career development, safety-focused training, and a supportive team environment within Europe’s largest grounds maintenance provider.

Groundsman

Location: Downpatrick, Northern Ireland

Hourly Rate: £13.50-£14.50 p/h

Contract type: Permanent, Full Time

Working hours: Monday - Friday 7:00-16:30, 40 hours per week + overtime

About the role

At idverde, we provide a range of Arboricultural Operations including tree removals, crown thinning/reductions/lifting, deadwooding and tree planting, as well as ongoing tree maintenance. We are now looking for a talented and experienced groundsman, to join our teams in Northern Ireland. Requirements

• Previous experience of working in an Arborist team.
• A full valid UK manual driving licence is essential.
• Excellent understanding of arboriculture and the ability to undertake operations safely and competently.
• Awareness of safety protocols and procedures is critical to ensure the well-being of both the surveyor and others in the vicinity of trees being assessed.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Recognised industry qualifications

• CS30 / NPTC 201 - Level 3 Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross-cutting
• CS31 / NPTC 202 - Level 3 Felling Small Trees <380mm
• CS32 / NPTC 304 - Level 3 Felling and Processing Medium Trees (#removed#mm)
• Chipper and Pole Saw certificates would be an advantage.
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Eye for detail and willingness to learn.
