The Davey Tree Expert Company of Canada, Limited in Maidstone, Ontario is seeking a Foreperson to lead a crew across multiple job sites, ensuring safe, on-time arboricultural work and exceptional client service.

You will mentor team members, direct operations, supervise tool and equipment maintenance, perform pruning and removal, install cables and lightning protection, and manage client expectations while upholding safety policies.

Qualificações

• Minimum 2 years experience as an Arborist.
• ISA certification or enrollment in arboriculture program or equivalent.
• Valid provincial driver’s license. 5-ton vehicle license considered an asset.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Strong tree, knot and shrub identification skills.

Responsabilidades

• Lead a crew on job sites to provide arboricultural care safely and efficiently.
• Direct crew members, and plan and execute assigned work.
• Supervise and assist in maintenance, preparation and operation of tools and equipment.
• Perform pruning, removal, cabling and lightning protection installations.
• Prune and remove deadwood throughout the canopy.
• Remove hazardous trees and provide expert tree trimming services.
• Manage customer service expectations and uphold safety policies.
• Maintain Davey and industry safety policies and procedures.

Position Overview

As a Foreperson you will lead a team to various job sites throughout the week, ensuring the job is done right, on time and safely. You will be a subject matter expert providing guidance to the team and acting as a mentor for newer team members, assisting them in developing a better understanding of the Arboriculture profession. You will also work to provide an exceptional customer experience as the main point of contact for our clients.

Job Duties

• Safely and efficiently lead a crew in providing arboricultural care for our clients.
• Directs crew members and equipment as well as planning and executing the assigned work and tasks.
• Responsible to supervise and assist in the proper maintenance, preparation and operation of all tools and equipment including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Pruning, thinning, and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy.
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
• Removal of hazardous trees.
• Provide expert tree trimming services and inspections to client properties.
• Manage customer service expectations.
• Maintain Davey and industry safety policies and procedures.

Including but not limited to:

Qualifications

• Valid provincial driver’s license. Licensed to drive a 5-ton vehicle and air brake endorsement considered an asset.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• The ability to understand and safely direct a team on the process of safely ascending tree canopies at all heights.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Strong tree, knot and shrub identification skills.

Additional Information

• Full time. Year-round employment.
• $25-$35/hour. Wage will be determined based on education, experience, and relevant qualifications or certifications. Certified arborists may be paid outside the pay range indicated.
