Job summary

Avove is expanding with a major Scottish Power project and seeks Arborists for long-term, stable roles. You will carry out vegetation management across the energy network, including aerial pruning, dismantling, and felling, using chainsaws and MEWPs.

A strong focus on safety, teamwork, and training will be central to your day-to-day work. You will operate specialist equipment, work at height, and support apprentices while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• NPTC certified tree felling and maintenance qualifications.
• Ability to work at height with rope or MEWP and use of safety gear.
• Commitment to health, safety and quality standards on site.

Responsibilities

• Carry out vegetation management and tree works across the network.
• Perform aerial pruning, dismantling, and felling per safety standards.
• Operate chainsaws, woodchippers, MEWPs and related equipment.
• Maintain safety and quality on every job site.
• Support team members and help develop apprentices/new staff.
• Work at height using rope/harness or MEWP for aerial work.

Avove is excited to announce a major expansion of our operations with Scottish Power Energy Networks. The contract has now doubled in size to approximately £10 million per annum and is secured for a full six-year period. This enables us to launch a significant recruitment drive focused on long-term planning, investment in people, and cutting-edge equipment.

We are seeking skilled and motivated Arborists to join our professional team. If you're looking for stability, progression, and the opportunity to work on a high-profile energy infrastructure project, this is your chance. This role is covering our Dee Valley areas LL14 post code.

What will your day look like...

• Carrying out vegetation management and tree works across the Scottish Power Energy network
• Performing aerial tree pruning, dismantling, and felling in line with safety regulations and utility standards
• Operating chainsaws, woodchippers, MEWPs and other specialist equipment
• Maintaining safety and quality standards on every job site
• Supporting team members and helping develop apprentices/new staff where appropriate
• Working at height using rope and harness or MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform) to safely perform aerial tree work
