Job summary

SLR Consulting Ltd is seeking an experienced Arboriculturalist for our North East England team. You will work within a multidisciplinary consultancy, delivering BS5837 surveys, AIA/AMS reports, and related tree protection plans across the UK.

Hybrid or remote working is available with site travel and occasional office visits. Ideal candidates have a minimum Level 3 arboriculture qualification, strong surveying and report-writing skills, and a full UK driving licence with willingness to travel

Responsibilities

  • Undertaking BS5837: 2012 tree surveys.
  • Producing Baseline Reports, Arboricultural Impact Assessments (AIA) and Arboricultural Method Statements (AMS), plus Tree Constraints Plans and Tree Protection Plans.
  • Leading consultation with local authority tree officers and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with the wider project team during design development.

Job description

SLR has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Arboriculturalist to join our team based in the North East of England. Working within a diverse multidisciplinary consultancy, your workload will be varied as the Arboricultural team work with clients across a broad range of sectors in Built Environment (including residential, healthcare, public realm etc), Leisure, Minerals and Mining, Waste and Energy. We are happy to offer hybrid or remote working with travel to sites and occasionally an SLR office, if required.

The role

This role offers the chance to be involved in a wide range of natural and built environment projects across the UK, working across our multidisciplinary team at SLR, which is involved in some of the most significant development projects throughout the UK with a range of fascinating public and private sector clients. Many of these are moving towards implementation as well as a number already on site, providing an excellent range of experience to enable you to progress in your career in arboriculture.

Day-to-day tasks
  • Undertaking BS5837: 2012 tree surveys
  • Producing Baseline Reports, Arboricultural Impact Assessments (AIA) and Arboricultural Method Statements (AMS), along with Tree Constraints Plans and Tree Protection Plans
  • Leading consultation with local authority tree officers and other stakeholders to support the project teams on arboricultural matters
  • Collaborating with the wider project team during design development

About you

With the experience and confidence to carry out site work independently, you should also have the following:

  • Arboriculture qualification to a minimum of Level 3
  • Surveying and report writing skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly across the UK
