Beacon Academy, part of Kernow Learning, invites applications for a Class Teacher with maternity leave cover to join the ARB team. The role focuses on high-quality teaching, raising aspirations and inclusive practice in a caring learning community.
The successful candidate will contribute to Beacon Academy’s ethos of Be Brilliant, Be Brave, Believe, and will work closely with the ARB and SENDCO teams to support pupils across 3–11 as they Shine Brightly.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed and talented Class Teacher to join our dedicated ARB team and contribute to our shared vision of helping every child to Shine Brightly. This is a full-time, fixed-term maternity cover position until 31 August 2027 or the return of the substantive postholder. We are looking for a passionate and reflective practitioner who is committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning, raising aspirations and ensuring that every child is supported to achieve their full potential, both academically and personally. The successful candidate will bring creativity, energy and enthusiasm to the classroom, alongside a strong commitment to inclusion, wellbeing and creating a positive learning environment where every child feels valued and can flourish. The ARB Class Teacher / Deputy SENDCO (Maternity Cover) role may attract an SEN1 allowance, subject to confirmation.
Beacon is a primary school and nursery for children aged 3 to 11 years old with an Area Resource Base for pupils from 4 years old. We hope that children will join us from the age of 3, when they can enjoy our fantastic outdoor Nursery, and then thrive on the provision in each year group up to Year 6. It is at the end of Year 6 that we say goodbye to our confident, well‑rounded young people, as they move on to secondary school equipped with skills which will take them successfully forward into the next stage of their education and indeed, will take them on into their longer‑term futures. We have three key values at Beacon Academy: Be Brilliant, Be Brave, Believe. These values work in partnership with our Trust Core Shared Values and our Trust Philosophy of ‘work hard, be honest & help others’. Our three school key values underpin everything we do. We want every child and every member of our community to hold these values close at all times. These values will, we are sure, enable every child and member of our school community to "Shine Brightly".
