Job summary

Level Zero Health is seeking a biosensor scientist with a strong background in electrochemical biosensor R&D and aptamer work to join our London-based startup. You will design and optimize sensors, develop assays, and troubleshoot complex bioanalytical challenges.

Qualifications

• PhD required in Electrochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical/Materials Engineering or related discipline with aptamer biosensors focus.
• Post doctoral experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and optimize electrochemical biosensor systems for small molecule analytes.
• Apply surface chemistry and electrode modification to improve sensitivity and selectivity.
• Translate bio-element interactions into measurable sensor outputs through novel assay design.
• Use electrochemical methods (voltammetry, impedimetry, chronoamperometry) to characterize biosensor function.
• Utilize Python-based analysis and DoE to streamline workflows.
• Troubleshoot technical and conceptual challenges and propose improvements.
• Develop and maintain SOPs ensuring reproducibility and compliance with quality standards.
• Collaborate with chemists, biologists, engineers, and data scientists to advance prototypes.
