Role Overview:

You will be part of a specialist Mental Health Service working with people with a severe and enduring mental ill health. You will take part in a AMHP duty rota and provide specialist support to your colleagues. Oldham Council are in the process of transforming Mental Health Services and are creating a specialist AMHP hub which will have 3 specific AMHP roles within the team. The other posts will be based within the community team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To undertake assessments under the Mental Health Act ’83.
  • To undertake Care Act Assessments and support your clients in remaining as independently as possible and promote good mental health.
  • To support colleagues and provide advice re Mental health Act.
  • To undertake assessments for CTO’s.

Key Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need as a minimum:

  • A Social Work degree or equivalent.
  • AMHP Qualification.
  • Experience of undertaking Assessments under the Mental Health Act’83
  • Experience of working with people with sever & enduring mental ill health.
  • Experience of undertaking Care Act assessments.
  • Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to work effectively with your clients their carers and the wider MDT.
