Sourced Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Approved Electrician to install, maintain and test electrical systems across engineering projects. You will supervise a small on-site team, ensuring work meets quality standards and safety requirements.

You will read schematics, GA drawings and P&IDs, produce containment sketches as needed, and work closely with Project Engineers to keep projects on schedule. A city-level qualification and hands-on experience are essential.

Formación

• City & Guilds electrical apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 electrical qualification.
• At least three years' post-apprenticeship experience.
• Knowledge of BS 7671 Wiring Regulations.
• ECS Gold Card.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, GA drawings and P&IDs.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsabilidades

Role Overview

We're looking for an experienced Approved Electrician to install, maintain, inspect and test electrical systems across a range of engineering projects. You'll combine hands‑on electrical work with supervising a small team on site, helping deliver projects safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and maintain electrical wiring, control systems and lighting.


• Install containment systems to support and protect cabling.


• Inspect and test electrical installations.


• Diagnose electrical faults using appropriate test equipment.


• Ensure completed work meets quality standards and is free from defects.


• Supervise and support a small team of tradespeople, including training and developing junior electricians.


• Liaise regularly with the Project Engineer or Project Manager and flag issues that could affect the schedule.


• Identify and report shortages of materials, equipment or plant to prevent delays.


• Work from electrical schematics, general arrangement (GA) drawings and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).


• Produce sketches for containment and cable installations as required.

• Maintain a safe and tidy working environment.


• Follow health and safety legislation, site procedures and company policies.


• Report near misses and contribute to safety improvement initiatives.


• Keep risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) up to date and advise management of any changes needed.


• Complete documentation in line with the company's business management systems.


• Comply with GDPR and follow company procedures aligned with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

Essential

• City & Guilds electrical apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 electrical qualification.


• At least three years' post-apprenticeship experience.


• Knowledge of BS 7671 Wiring Regulations.


• ECS Gold Card.


• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, GA drawings and P&IDs.


• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.


• Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Word and email.

Desirable

• Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) qualification.


• City & Guilds 2391 or 2395 Inspection and Testing qualification.


• Full UK driving licence.
