Your Role

We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Road Sales team in Manchester. Our Road Logistics team at Kuehne+Nagel provides hundreds of customers with services to move their goods across Europe. The sales team works directly to source, engage, and maintain our customer base, ensuring that shipments are booked efficiently and delivered on time. Our diverse customer base means every day can involve shipping canoes to Croatia or shoes to Slovakia—every day is different!

Your Responsibilities

Our 24-month Apprenticeship programme is designed to provide you with a perfect blend of practical on-the-job training and study towards the Sales Level 4 Apprenticeship standard.

You will work within a successful Sales team while learning everything needed to be a top sales performer, supported by your peers, managers, and the apprenticeship team at Kuehne+Nagel.

Initially, you will focus on delivering excellent customer service. Later, you will develop specialist Sales skills and manage your own Customer Service or Sales Account. Successful apprentices may secure a full-time sales position and earn bonuses and pay rises linked to the programme.

Over the two years, you will learn to:

  • Efficiently process bookings from clients and overseas agents.
  • Provide operational support for Sales Managers.
  • Coordinate shipments by liaising with relevant parties and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Handle issues during shipments and keep clients and Sales Managers updated.
  • Process sales and purchase invoices.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in meetings and training.
  • Make sales calls, onboard new customers, and attend offsite meetings.
  • Analyze sales performance and prepare customer review meetings.
Your Skills and Experiences

The minimum entry requirement is five GCSEs at grades 3–9 / A*-D, including Maths & English.

We value candidates passionate about customer service, with a strong work ethic and effective communication skills. Good planning, organization, multitasking, and self-starting abilities are important.

Experience with Microsoft Outlook and Excel is beneficial.
