Job description

Join to apply for the APPRENTICESHIP EARLY YEARS ASSESSOR role at John Ruskin College.

We are currently seeking to appoint an organized and knowledgeable Early Years Assessor to join our Apprenticeship department.

This role involves visiting learners to assess them in the workplace and onsite at the College on BTEC Level 3 specification. The post holder will manage a specific caseload, with key responsibilities for supporting and maximizing students' learning journeys.

Your Duties Will Include:
  • Managing communication with employers, work-based students/apprentices, and ensuring records meet standards.
  • Carrying out administration for all work-based students/apprentices, maintaining accurate reports and documentation.
  • Monitoring and tracking student progress.
  • Completing key apprenticeship sign-up documents timely and accurately.
  • Conducting reviews regularly, recording outcomes appropriately.
  • Liaising with lecturing staff on student progress and target setting.
  • Carrying out placement observations to meet BTEC specifications.

This role may also include assessing practical skills demonstrated in the workplace.

The Successful Candidate Must Have:
  • Work experience in a related role.
  • An Assessing qualification.
  • Previous assessing experience, ideally within FE.
  • Experience teaching/tutoring Early Years in FE.
  • A Childcare/Health and Social Care qualification at Level 3 or higher (a degree preferred).
  • Minimum Maths & English GCSE or Level 2 equivalent.
