Job Overview

We are accepting applications for this role in Cornwall only. Pearson, the world's leading learning company with 35,000 employees across more than 70 countries, is seeking an independent end-point assessor for Early Years Lead Practitioner L5. This role involves assessing apprentices to ensure they meet industry standards and are fully job-ready.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in regular training and standardisation activities
  • Maintain and evidence ongoing CPD
  • Assess candidate performance according to published criteria
  • Follow Pearson’s assessment protocols and quality assurance procedures
  • Respond to EPA planning and operational activities promptly
  • Report risks, issues, and suspected malpractice
  • Ensure high-quality EPA reports and evidence recording
  • Support Pearson with appeals, if needed
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for EPA activities
  • Declare conflicts of interest and maintain independence
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and external quality assurance activities
Person Specification

The candidate should be a proactive practitioner working directly with children, capable of leading day-to-day practice, and supporting team development. They should have relevant qualifications, experience, and a thorough understanding of the occupational standard and assessment requirements.

Essential Background and Experience
  • Hold a relevant Level 6 qualification and meet Department for Education criteria
  • At least 2 years postgraduate experience in Early Years Practice
  • DBS Certificate and assessor qualification
Additional Requirements
  • UK-based candidates only
  • Availability of at least two days per week for EPA activities
  • Personal IT equipment, reliable broadband, microphone, headphones, webcam
  • Right to work in the UK
