Job description

Be The Person Who Starts Careers That Change Lives
Apprenticeship & Early Careers Mentor (fixed term contract 12 months with potential to extend)

Full Time | David Lewis | Warford, Cheshire

Help shape futures. Build confidence. Inspire careers.

Salary: £34,762.16

We're launching something exciting at David Lewis, and we're looking for someone equally exciting to help make it a success. This September we'll welcome our very first cohort of Health & Social Care Apprentices – talented people who are taking their first steps into a career supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy and complex needs. We don't just want them to complete an apprenticeship. We want them to build a career. That's where you come in.

About The Role

As our new Apprenticeship & Early Careers Mentor, you'll be the friendly face, trusted coach and biggest cheerleader for our apprentices. You'll help them settle into life at David Lewis, build their confidence, develop professional skills and support them through every stage of their apprenticeship journey. Working closely with our Recruitment, Learning & Development and operational teams, you'll ensure every apprentice has the best possible start to what we hope becomes a long and rewarding career with us. As our Early Careers programme grows, so will this role. In time you'll also support work experience students, university placements, T Level learners, graduates and future apprenticeship programmes, helping shape the next generation of talent across David Lewis.

We're Looking For Someone Who...
  • Loves helping people succeed.
  • Has a Level 3 or above qualification in Learning & Development, Education, HR, Coaching, Youth Work, Careers Guidance or a related discipline.
  • Has experience in careers guidance, employability, coaching, mentoring or employment support.
  • Understands Health & Social Care and the importance of developing great people.
  • Can build trust quickly with young adults.
  • Is organised, positive and full of encouragement.
  • Believes everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive.
  • Knowledge of the care sector is important, but your passion for developing people is what will make the biggest difference.
Why join us?

This is a rare opportunity to build something from the ground up. You'll help create an apprenticeship programme that changes lives—not just for the people joining us, but for the people they'll go on to support every day. You'll be joining an organisation that's ambitious, values-driven and committed to investing in people, with the opportunity to shape how we attract, develop and retain future talent for years to come. If you've ever wanted a role where you can genuinely say, "I helped someone start a career that changed their life," this could be it.
