Job summary

East Lancashire Learning Group is seeking an experienced practitioner to lead carpentry and joinery apprenticeship provision. The role combines college-based delivery with travel to employers, primarily based at Accrington and across sites.

You will plan and deliver theory and practical sessions, coach and assess apprentices, and prepare them for end-point assessment, using OneFile and college systems to record progress.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in site carpentry and bench joinery up to level 3.
• Experience delivering theory and practical sessions to apprentices.
• Familiarity with apprenticeship funding, off-the-job training, and quality assurance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality carpentry theory and practical sessions.
• Provide coaching, assessment, progress reviews and workplace support.
• Develop training plans reflecting starting points and employer needs.
• Assess progress and give timely feedback with additional support.
• Prepare apprentices for end-point assessment through milestones and discussions.
• Record learning and progress using OneFile and college systems.
• Monitor attendance, engagement and wellbeing with employers and college teams.
• Develop teaching resources and maintain safe workshop practices.
