Job summary

DFS Furniture PLC in Alfreton, United Kingdom, is recruiting an Apprentice Wood Machinist to join our production team. You will learn to operate a range of woodworking machinery safely under supervision and support skilled machinists with setup, operation and maintenance of wood-processing equipment.

The structured 15-18 month apprenticeship, delivered by Webbs Training in Nottingham (Day Release), will develop your skills in machine setup, tooling, quality standards, and safe working practices,

Qualifications

• Learning to operate a variety of woodworking machinery safely under supervision.
• Assisting skilled machinists with the setup, operation and maintenance of wood-processing machines.
• Following production schedules and quality standards to ensure products meet specifications.
• Measuring, cutting, shaping, and preparing timber and wood-based materials.
• Carrying out routine machine checks and reporting faults or maintenance needs.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Participating in apprenticeship training and workplace learning activities.
