Job Description
Key Responsibilities

As part of our manufacturing and production team supporting defence systems, your responsibilities include:

  • Managing production build from receipt of materials to final assembly, testing, and delivery.
  • Ensuring activities comply with procedures and standards for high-quality output.
  • Supporting team members in production duties as needed.
  • Building electro-mechanical assemblies to IPC-A-610 standards.
  • Conducting automated tests of assemblies.
  • Packaging products.
  • Performing self-inspections for quality assurance.
  • Reporting discrepancies via our ERP system (IFS).
  • Achieving targets for output, quality, cost, and safety.
  • Championing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Training colleagues to company standards.
  • Promoting good working relations and team building.
  • Managing non-conformances and defective materials.
  • Ensuring safety and environmental procedures are followed.
  • Deputizing for managers when required.
  • Managing material shortages and discrepancies through ERP and communication.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
We seek a trustworthy, dependable individual with experience in:
  • Collaborating with Ultra staff for successful production and system builds.
  • Level 3 in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related field with manufacturing experience.
  • Interpreting engineering drawings and documentation.
  • Learning quickly, being agile, and solving complex problems.
  • Gaining UK government security clearance and meeting all requirements for UK government products.
Personal Attributes

We value a dedicated, hardworking individual with:

  • A positive attitude and ability to represent the apprenticeship scheme and support the SEADs programme.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written), including concise reporting.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Eligibility for security clearance to at least SC level without caveats.

Typically, a High School Diploma or equivalent and relevant experience are required.

We offer financial support for candidates considering relocation, assessed on a case-by-case basis per role and HMRC guidelines.

Nationality Requirements

Candidates must be eligible for the necessary security clearance due to the nature of our programmes.
