Job summary

Arvato is seeking an Apprentice Site Engineer to join our engineering and maintenance team in Corby. You will gain hands-on experience supporting reactive repairs, preventative maintenance, fault finding and equipment inspections in a fast-paced warehouse and automation environment.

This apprenticeship combines practical on-the-job training with formal learning to cover mechanical, electrical and automation systems while working toward completing the programme.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of mechanical and/or electrical engineering principles.
• Proactive approach to learning with good problem-solving skills.
• Interest in automation, conveyors, AutoStore and warehouse technologies.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, ability to follow instructions and take responsibility.
• Confidence using computers and Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Commitment to safe working practices, 5S, and high housekeeping standards.
• Willingness to travel between UK sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Support experienced engineers with reactive repairs, preventive maintenance, equipment inspections and fault diagnosis.
• Develop technical skills through hands-on training and completion of apprenticeship requirements.
• Learn about automation, conveyor systems, AutoStore and warehouse technologies.
• Contribute to equipment availability and reliability to maintain warehouse operations.
• Accurately complete maintenance documentation and ticketing systems.
• Adhere to Health & Safety requirements and company policies, reporting hazards.
• Collaborate with engineers, operations teams and vendors to provide professional service.
• Suggest improvements to equipment reliability and maintenance processes.
