Job summary

Arvato, a leading global 3PL provider, is seeking an Apprentice Site Engineer in Corby. You will join our engineering and maintenance team, developing practical technical skills in a fast-paced warehouse and automation environment.

You'll work alongside experienced engineers, gain hands-on experience with reactive repairs, preventative maintenance and fault finding, and progress through an apprenticeship programme across mechanical, electrical and automation systems.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of mechanical and/or electrical engineering principles, with an interest in developing your technical knowledge.
• Proactive approach to learning, with good problem-solving skills and the ability to apply new knowledge in a practical environment.
• Interest in automation, conveyors, AutoStore and warehouse technologies.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow instructions and take responsibility.
• Confidence using computers and Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong commitment to safe working practices, 5S and high housekeeping standards.
• Willingness to travel between UK sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Support experienced engineers with reactive repairs, preventative maintenance, equipment inspections and fault diagnosis.
• Develop technical skills through hands-on training and formal learning.
• Build knowledge of automation, conveyor, AutoStore and warehouse technologies.
• Support equipment availability and reliability to maintain warehouse operations.
• Accurately complete maintenance documentation, job sheets and ticketing systems.
• Follow Health & Safety requirements and company policies.
