Job summary

Equans is seeking an Apprentice SHEQ Officer in Wath upon Dearne, South Yorkshire, on a 2-year fixed term basis. The role is full-time (40 hours per week) with apprentice wage and benefits.

You will start with an SHEQ Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship and travel as required within the employer's operating area. You will work with management to ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards, assist with safe systems of work, investigations, data analysis and reporting, and

Responsibilities

• Advise management and delivery teams on statutory health, safety and environmental requirements
• Develop and review safe systems of work; investigate incidents and present findings
• Promote a culture of safe prac tices to enable everyone to return home safely
• Understand SHE legislation and guidance applicable to the workplace
• Identify, evaluate and control hazards relevant to the workplace
• Support SHEQ project work and conduct site inspections/audits
• Ensure quality of work is fit for purpose and in line with best practice

Equans is looking for an Apprentice SHEQ Officer to join our team in Wath upon Dearne, South Yorkshire on a 2 year fixed term basis. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is apprentice wage and benefits package.

General Overview

To become a fully trained SHEQ Advisor commencing with the attainment of the Safety, Health and Environment Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship. The apprentice SHEQ will be office based and expected to travel by their own means within the employers operating area.

What will you deliver?

• To work with the management and delivery teams of the organisation to advise on the statutory health, safety and environmental requirements as they affect the company’s operations.
• Assist to develop, review and check on the implementation of safe systems of work, investigate accidents, analyse data and present findings to the management team.
• Engage with all aspects of the organisation to support a culture that ensures that everyone is able to return home unharmed, every day.
• Understand the moral reasons for good safety, health and environmental working practices, including how a SHE management system works and the range of standards a typical HSE professional would be involved with.
• Learn about the statutory health, safety and environmental legislation and sources of associated guidance and information applicable to the working environment.
• Understand appropriate methods for identifying, evaluating and controlling hazards relevant to the workplace.
• Assist the Senior SHEQ Advisor in delivery of SHEQ project work, including the undertaking of site inspections/audits.
• Ensure that standards and quality of work produced is in accordance with best practice and fit for purpose.
