Job summary

Skills for Security offers an apprenticeship programme in Fire, Emergency & Security Systems. You will train hands-on with real security systems, supported by experienced engineers, and study toward a Level 3 qualification at the Doncaster centre.

The role focuses on installing, maintaining and documenting work, while adhering to health and safety policies and vetting requirements. It is ideal for those who enjoy practical tech work and learning on the job.

Qualifications

• Must be 17+ and eligible to work in the UK.
• Full UK driving licence.
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English, and Science at grade 4 (C) or above.
• Desirable GCSE grades but not essential: Design and Technology, Electronics, Engineering.
• Interest in technology, electronics, or security systems.
• Willingness to learn and commit to the full duration of the apprenticeship.
• Good communication skills and a flexible, proactive attitude.
• Must be able to achieve the NPCC and Security Clearance vetting.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and fault-find on CCTV and access control systems.
• Assist in maintenance, servicing and repair of security systems.
• Maintain accurate service records and customer documentation.
• Ensure tools, parts, equipment, and vehicle are ready for use.
• Adhere to Health & Safety policies and industry standards.
