Job summary

Job description

Equans is looking for an Apprentice Resident Liaison Officer to join our team In Leeds on a 12 month fixed term basis. This is a full time role working 39 hours per week. On offer is NMW and benefits package.

The Apprentice Resident Liaison Officer is accountable for supporting effective communication and positive relationships between the construction project team and local residents or stakeholders. This role assists in ensuring that residents are well informed about construction activities, timelines, and any potential disruptions. The position serves as a key interface to address community concerns and foster goodwill, contributing to the smooth delivery of construction projects.

What will you deliver?
  • Assist in managing and maintaining constructive relationships with residents, local businesses, and other stakeholders affected by construction activities.
  • Support the communication of project updates, schedules, and mitigation plans to local communities through various channels (e.g., letters, meetings, phone calls).
  • Monitor and report on community feedback and issues, escalating significant concerns to senior project staff as appropriate.
  • Help coordinate and participate in community engagement initiatives and consultation events.
  • Contribute to ensuring compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and best practices relating to community relations and stakeholder management.
  • Provide administrative support to the resident liaison function, including record keeping and reporting.

Essential
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Desirable
  • Previous experience or exposure to customer service, community work, or construction environment
  • Basic IT skills (email, document management)
  • NVQ Level 1 or equivalent in a relevant subject (e.g., Customer Service, Construction)
