Job summary

Change Grow Live in Huddersfield is seeking an Apprentice Probation Worker to join our Kirklees team. You will learn on the job while earning, gaining a Level 2 Adult Care Qualification on completion.

The role involves supporting service users through probation and criminal justice pathways, conducting assessments, and referring to appropriate services. The position is a 14-month fixed-term contract with a starting salary of £16,438.50 pro rata.

Qualifications

• Lived experience of the Criminal Justice system.
• Interest in social care and recovery.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Effective time management and ability to work independently.
• Familiarity with IT applications (Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Support service users involved with HM Probation Service and Criminal Justice System from entry through treatment/recovery.
• Provide screening, assessment, psychosocial interventions, recovery planning and onward referral.
• Reduce drug and alcohol-related harm to service users and the wider community.
• Support Criminal Justice team with risk assessment and management to protect victims and public.
• Assist with alcohol/drug testing and liaise with courts and partner agencies.
