Qualifications

• Good communication, attention to detail, time management and the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines are essential.
• Four GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4–9 / A–C in English Language, Maths and Science are required.
• Candidates who already hold a Level 3 Pharmacy qualification are not eligible for apprenticeship funding.

Responsibilities

• Labelling, dispensing and accuracy checking a variety of prescriptions using our electronic prescribing system.
• Learning how different medicines work and what they are used to treat.
• Ordering, receiving and maintaining pharmaceutical stock.
• Providing excellent customer care and maintaining confidentiality while dealing with patients, staff and the public.
• Counselling patients on how to use their medicines safely.
• Working directly with patients on wards and in clinics to ensure safe medicines use both while in hospital and on discharge.
• Completing patient medication histories onwards.

Training is intensive and requires strongmotivation, commitment, and organisation.

You’ll need to complete around8-10hours of home study each weekalongside your job.

The role includes workingevenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

Applicantsmustmeet all apprenticeship eligibility criteria, includingfour GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4–9 / A–C* in English Language, Maths, and Science.

These must be clearly listed on the application form; those who do not meet the criteria will not be shortlisted.

Candidates who already hold a Level 3 (or higher) Pharmacy qualification are not eligible for apprenticeship funding.
