Role Summary
This is a two-year fixed-term apprenticeship during which the post holder will learn and apply the knowledge, skills, and behaviors required to become a registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
The post holder will undertake duties across various areas, including dispensary, aseptic/technical services, procurement, distribution, and medicines management/optimization. They will also carry out the final accuracy checking of prescriptions.

The role is based in the Pharmacy Department at North Devon District Hospital. It offers an excellent opportunity to gain the skills and knowledge to become a fully qualified and registered Pharmacy Technician.
Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians are vital to the development of the Pharmacy team. Applications are invited from enthusiastic, hardworking, self-motivated individuals with good communication skills.
The role requires completion of the nationally recognized BTEC Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians, achieved through virtual learning and workplace training.
Each workplace rotation will have a practicesupervisor, and the overall training program will be managed by an educational supervisor.
During rotations, the post holder will learn skills and undertake duties such as:
Competence will be assessed through portfolios, and knowledge through assignments and quizzes.
Completion of all educational activities within the contract period is mandatory; failure may lead to termination.
The salary for Year 1 is £__, (Band 2), and Year 2 is £__, (Band 3).
