Job summary

Confidential is seeking a Payroll Apprentice for an immediate start. You will work with the Director to learn and manage payroll processes while pursuing a Level 2 Accounting Apprenticeship, with full training and mentoring.

You will process end-to-end payroll for multiple frequencies, update pension contributions, assist with new client setup, and liaise with HMRC and pension providers, gaining valuable payroll experience.

Qualifications

• Able to work under pressure in a small team or independently.
• Payroll is time-sensitive; must prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and a confident approach.

Responsibilities

• Assist in end-to-end payroll calculations for multiple frequencies.
• Update pension contribution data for each pay period.
• Assist with setup and administration for new clients.
• Liaise with HMRC, pension providers and government departments.
• Answer payroll queries from clients and staff.
• Update client spreadsheets for data capture.
• Learn and keep up to date with payroll legislation.
• Assist with software changes, integrations and upgrades.

One of the companies in our group is looking for a Payroll Apprentice for an immediate start.

About The Role:

You'll be working alongside the Director learning & managing payroll processes and gaining practical experience in payroll whilst working towards your Level 2 Accounting Apprenticeship qualification.

You will receive full training and regular feedback, mentoring and continuous learning leaving you with valuable knowledge for further develop your career in payroll.

A full and varied role is on offer for the right candidate and your main responsibilities will be:

• Assist in the processing of end to end payroll calculations for multiple pay frequencies
• Updating pension schemes with contribution data for each pay period
• Dealing with setup and administration for new clients
• Liaising with 3rd party providers such as HMRC, pension providers and various Government depts
• Answering payroll related queries from clients & their staff
• Updating client spreadsheets for various data capture
• Learning & keeping up to date with the latest payroll legislation
• Assisting with change of software, integration & upgrades

Skills & Experience:

• The ideal candidate will be able to work under pressure and as part of a small team as well as independently.
• Payroll is extremely time sensitive so the ability to priorities workload and work to tight deadlines is essential.
• Excellent attention to detail and accruacy.
• Good communication skills and a confident nature
