Job summary

Little Heroes Nursery Thames Ditton is offering an Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship. You will support children’s health, wellbeing and development through daily care, learning activities, and progress observations.

Applicants should have a good level of English and will be trained on-the-job towards the Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship, with potential progression to a full-time Nursery Practitioner role on successful completion.

Qualifications

• Applicants should have a good level of English.
• You will be working towards the Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship standard, including Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours and Functional skills in Maths and English if required.

• Carry out daily care routines to support children's health, wellbeing, and development.
• Plan and deliver engaging learning activities in line with the EYFS framework.
• Observe, assess, and record children's progress to support their next steps in learning.
• Build positive relationships with parents and maintain effective communication.

• Actively participate in staff meetings, parents' evenings, and open days.

Job description

At Little Heroes Nursery Thames Ditton, the fundamental principle is to provide an environment and experience for children to be happy. By providing a balance between education; encouragement and fun, they believe that they offer a safe environment for children to express themselves and enjoy their early years. As an early years apprentice, your duties will include;

• Carry out daily care routines to support children's health, wellbeing, and development.
• Plan and deliver engaging learning activities in line with the EYFS framework.
• Observe, assess, and record children's progress to support their next steps in learning.
• Build positive relationships with parents and maintain effective communication.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and contribute to a safe and secure nursery environment.
• Actively participate in staff meetings, parents' evenings, and open days.

• has a commitment to safeguarding and will support the nursery in its high standard of safety and safeguarding (an enhanced DBS check will be required)

Working Week Monday - Friday shifts - to be agreed

Training to be Provided

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. They will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day. You will be working towards the Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship standard, which includes:

• Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
• Functional skills in Maths and English if required, We can offer progression into a full time Nursery Practitioner role following successful completion of a childcare qualification.
