Job summary

Lift Schools in Birmingham invites aspiring Maths teachers to join its school-based Initial Teacher Training Programme. The Apprenticeship route enables you to learn on the job, while you earn and work toward a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

You will spend most of the year in classrooms supported by experienced mentors, gaining practical teaching confidence and progressively taking on more responsibility.

Qualifications

• Degree in Maths, STEM or related field preferred.
• GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) required.
• 2:2 degree or above by start of programme.
• Right to live and work in the UK for the training year.
• Must not currently hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Responsibilities

• Gain practical classroom experience as a trainee Maths teacher.
• Complete PGCE and QTS through the Apprenticeship route.
• Receive weekly mentoring and coaching from experienced teachers.
• Participate in two-week Summer School and ongoing weekly training.
