Apprenticeship Opportunity for a Maintenance Operative at NHS Property Services (NHSPS)

We are launching our 2025 Maintenance Operative Apprenticeship Scheme (Level 2) and are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Apprentices to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience, learn from professionals, and develop a career in Facilities Management.

Our Maintenance Operatives help maintain and repair NHS buildings and facilities. This apprenticeship offers structured learning, working alongside experienced professionals, developing skills in plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, and general maintenance. We have 5 positions in northern and southern regions.

This is a 2-year commitment with an apprenticeship training plan and qualification. Recruitment days are on 25th June 2025 at our London office, 10 South Colonnade E14 4PU. Successful candidates will start in September, enrolled in August.

Where you'll be: Ashtead Clinic, Ashtead KT21 2BQ.

Salary: £20,000

What you'll do:

• Assist in routine maintenance, safety checks, and reporting hazards; support plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and decorating tasks.
• Learn from mentors; participate in training and workshops.
• Develop skills and complete assignments for the qualification.
• Learn NHSPS best practices and gain a professional qualification.

Who you are:

• Minimum GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above).
• Enthusiastic about practical work; no prior experience needed.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Team player with stakeholders.
• Valid Driving License required by the end of the apprenticeship.
• Aged 16 or over and not in full-time education.
