Job summary

M&I Materials (Wolfmet) in Trafford Park, Manchester, is seeking an Apprentice Machinist to develop hands-on skills in machining tungsten alloy components. The role requires maths, mechanical drawing interpretation, and precision work with conventional and CNC machines.

Training leading to L2/L3 diplomas is provided; successful apprentices may secure a permanent position after completion, with a 40-hour week and a starting wage of £320 per week.

Qualifications

• Mathematical ability and practical machining skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate conventional and CNC machines to manufacture parts.
• Contribute to quality checks and paperwork per standards.
• Assist in TPM activities and housekeeping to 5S levels.
• Support continuous improvement activities within Wolfmet production processes.
